## Description **Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises Employment Services** **ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY** **** **SUMMARY**: The Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises are currently seeking 2 student research assistants to work on the AFRL funded project on additive manufacturing for space systems under the supervision of Dr. Navid Nakhjiri during the Summer 2026. **** **SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):** - Coordinate the collaboration with JPL AM team. - Assist in research and documentation of the project. - Perform various design and experiment with manufacturing techniques. - Must be able to adhere to a regular work schedule. **** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** - Must be a Cal Poly Pomona Student in Fall 2026 pursuing a degree in Science or Engineering. - Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. - Must be a US Citizen. - Must be familiar with Space Systems and Additive Manufacturing. **** **PREFERRED:** - Familiarity with manufacturing requirements for space systems. - Familiarity with topology optimization. **ABOUT US**: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
