Review and edit CNC programs as necessary for quick and successful completion of setup of these CNC machines. Participate in the Engineering Department efforts on launch of new products and major process changes. **** **Essential Job Functions:** **Operate assigned machinery to fabricate parts to the required specifications by:** - Reading work orders and specification sheets. - Properly powering up and down the machine. - Loading and unloading parts. - Ensuring proper tooling for each machine. - Creating and sizing jaws on the machine. - Changing chucking devices when necessary. - Recognizing insert and tool geometry. - Making offset adjustments for size. **Ensures all parts are to the required specifications by:** - Reading blueprints, operation drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. - Verifying conformance of finished work piece specifications. - Complying with all work instructions. - Following and maintaining ISO and Schafer procedures. - Completing Schafer’s quality certification requirements for assigned area. **Ensure the operational effectiveness of all assigned equipment by:** - Conducting all assigned and necessary preventative maintenance procedures. - Starting and observing machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance…
