As Advanced Software Engineer within the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) organization here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency in the aerospace industry. You will work within cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform the way aircraft operate. Your experience in software engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of aerospace technology. In this role within the Military Traffic & Transponder Product Engineering team, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell’s aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry. On our team, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation and new product development projects, directly contributing to the advancement of aviation technology in the Airborne Traffic, Collision Avoidance & Surveillance Avionics space. You will have ownership for systems engineering development at every aspect of the systems life cycle. **You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, working out of Phoenix, AZ on a Hybrid work schedule.** ### Responsibilities **Key Responsibilities:** - Drive customer engagement while delivering programs on schedule, within scope, and on budget. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications - Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills - Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions in accordance with project specifications. - Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices - Ensure the timely and successful delivery of software projects within scope and budget - Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering - Ability to code in multiple languages. ### Qualifications **YOU MUST HAVE** - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics. - **At least 5 years of software engineering experience.** - **Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Assembly** - Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines. - Understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles. - Ability to manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively **WE VALUE** - **Familiarity with RF communications** - Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket - Familiarity with signal processing, test, and embedded software experience - Familiarity with various application areas supporting Avionics functions, Navigation and Airborne Surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT). - Experience working with Defense Customers preferred - Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience. - Passion for innovation and continuous learning. - Team building and collaboration - Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts. - Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events - Multi-tasking and ability to adapt dictated by project changes. - Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. **BENEFITS** Beyond a performance-driven salary, you'll work along…
