This position involves conducting inpatient new consults and follow-ups, rounding with attending’s and other team members. This position is currently inpatient only, but may have the potential for some outpatient duties down the road. Additional responsibilities include: managing adult patients on the division including (but not limited to): symptom management, assessment and orders. This will be structured as 4 ten hour shifts and will require weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. APP experience is preferred, however new graduates with extensive infectious disease experience may be considered. Common infectious disease conditions in the hospital include (but are not limited to): • Leukocytosis, Septic Shock, Fever • Pneumonia (CAP, HAP, VAP) • Complicated urinary tract infection/Pyelonephritis • Skin & soft tissue infections • Intra-abdominal abscess • Endocarditis (Native valves, Prosthetic Valves, CIED) • Bone & Join Infection o Osteomyelitis (non-vertebral, vertebral, spinal epidural abscess) o Septic arthritis (native, prosthetic) • Clostridium difficile infection • Central nervous system infection (meningitis, encephalitis, ventriculitis) • Neutropenic fever • HIV/AIDS • Vector-borne infections (tick-borne infection) • Invasive fungal infections Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs. **Responsibilities:** - Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
