Job Title: Locum Speech and Language Therapist – Adult Acute Inpatients – Orpington Banding: Band 6 Location: Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: £24.00–£27.50 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time (37.5 hours per week if full-time) Duration: 3 months Job Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Inpatient team at Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated therapist with experience managing adult acute inpatient caseloads to provide high-quality assessment and intervention within a busy hospital setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders to optimise their recovery and improve clinical outcomes. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting. Deliver evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and discharge planning. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with HCPC and local trust standards. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to service delivery where appropriate. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). HCPC registration. Previous experience working with adult acute inpatient caseloads. Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
