Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is looking for an Administrative Coordinator who brings strong organizational skills, initiative, and a commitment to excellence. In this role, you’ll be at the center of our administrative operations—managing records, coordinating communication, and helping ensure our facility functions efficiently. If you’re ready to make an impact in a dynamic public-service environment, this is the opportunity for you. **An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:** - **Accepting Direction:** The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions. - **Following Policies and Procedures:** The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies. - **Managing Resources:** The ability to manage financial, physical, and contractual resources to ensure compliance and maximize business value. Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. Prepares responses to inquiries received by phone or in writing, including drafting professional correspondence and letters of reply. - **Provides comprehensive clerical and typing support** for the division, including preparing documents, forms, and reports. Operates computer systems for data entry, information retrieval, and report generation with accuracy and efficiency. - **Maintains and organizes confidential files and materials**, ensuring proper handling and security of sensitive information. Oversees the division’s filing systems, including creating, updating, and archiving records. Sorts and distributes incoming mail, manages inter-institutional correspondence, and identifies items requiring immediate attention or expedited processing. - **Processes and enters employee time records**, assists timekeepers by generating and printing required reports, and ensures accuracy and timeliness of payroll-related documentation. Position-Specific Details: **Appointment Type:** DETAIL OF A permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC) - An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if a position becomes available. **Other Important Information** **:** - ***IMPORTANT:*** In the supplemental questions section, **applicants must authorize** the HR Office of DPS&C-Corrections Services to contact prior employers to check references under the **Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), to be considered for employment, by answering ‘YES’ to the PREA question.** - Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire. - Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/college hours should have an accompanying transcript for verification. - This is a 24-hour facility. - **This Agency is a Drug F…
