If you have a heart for bringing your best to each individual interaction you have, we invite you to join us.** **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Participates in the program development of relevant and purposeful activities to meet the psychological, physical and social needs of the residents. - Evaluates the needs/goals and treatment plan of residents under supervision of Activities Director. - Prepares and implements daily activities programming. - Records and maintains required documentation (daily participation, quarterly progress notes, Initial/Annual Assessments, Minimum Data Set, Resident Care Plans) for all assigned residents. - Assists in the preparation, set-up, and clean-up of activity functions. - Accompanies residents to special events and trips outside the facility. - Assists in transport of residents to and from activity functions. - Assists residents requiring supervision or minimal assistance with toileting during an activities program. - Leads or co-leads groups. - Works individually with residents as needed. - Attends all mandatory safety, infection control, and educational programs. - Participates in required department in-service/staff meetings. - Ensures that residents are free from abuse, mistreatment or neglect and reports any such instance or any complaints or grievances made by residents, family members or visitors to the Director of Activities or the Assistant Director of Activities. - Performs any other duties as assigned by Director or Assistant Director of Activities. ## Requirements - Minimum one year experience in Activities, Recreation or related field. - Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language - Willingness to work some evenings and weekends - Ability to interact effectively with residents, their families, visitors, and other staff members - Genuine desire to work with older adults - Understanding of the needs of the geriatric population
