The course provides students an opportunity to complete the Legends requirement while continuing to build the habits, strategies, and confidence needed for academic success and degree completion at the University of Alabama. The course emphasizes academic self-efficacy, personal goal setting, effective study and learning strategies, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning in everyday contexts, and connection to the academic community. Students will reflect on prior academic experiences, identify strengths and challenges, and practice evidence-based approaches to learning and self-management. Through guided activities, peer interaction, and structured reflection, students will strengthen their ability to navigate university expectations, engage productively with coursework, and build a sense of belonging and purpose within the academic community. This course enables students who did not complete their first-year Legends requirement to reconnect to academic community, rebuild consistent routines, and develop the skills, self-compassion, and academic buoyancy needed to sustain their path to a degree.
