## Overview Non-Exempt, PT Day/Evening Position **General Summary:** Prepares portions and serves all food for patients, residents, and/or staff. Determines amounts to prepare and directs dietary assistants as needed. Responsible for keeping work area clean and sanitary. ## Description **Essential Functions:** ***Integrity*** - Maintain quality control logs ***Attention to Detail*** - Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry. - Cook food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served. - Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. - Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment. - Bake breads, rolls, and other pastries. ***Cooperation*** - Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals. - Train new employees. ***Compliance*** - Promotes and adheres to the provisions of the compliance program. - Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility. - Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. - Promotes and adheres to the TVHS core values and Standards of Behavior. ## Requirements **Education and Experience:** - High School graduate or equivalent. - Previous food preparation and cooking experience preferred.
