The Hormel Corn Nuts facility is seeking a 2nd Shift Packaging/Sanitation Lead to support production and operations in a food manufacturing environment. Schedule Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Weekends and overtime as needed) Pay Range $23.65 – $25.15 per hour, plus shift differential Benefits & Compensation Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) 11 Paid Holidays 401(k) retirement plan **Job Summary** Reporting to the Team Lead and/or Production Manager, the Packer/Sanitation Lead will be part of our operations team and will operate and maintain the machines that are used to package the Corn Nuts that are produced in the Fresno Plant. The Packer/Sanitation Lead is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring the machine to ensure efficient production and quality output. **Essential Functions** - Must be able to operate and perform basic troubleshooting on all packaging machines - Must be able to perform all packaging, utility and sanitation tasks as needed - Must be able to perform all required scans and tasks in AS400 - Must be able to troubleshoot and change out box labelers - Must be able to operate and coordinate work activities associated with all packaging lines - Must be able to interface with all packaging related computer screens to operate equipment - Must be able to perform safety and quality prechecks and audits and all equipment prior to startup - Must be able to complete all quality checks on package goods and any other checks required by management during operations. An input data into Quality Suite Program - Must be able to perform basic troubleshooting and general repairs and the below - film changes - changing deflaters - Adjusting of the blades, - Replacing silicon strips - Setting registration sensor - Threading code date ribbon, - Perform 2d barcode changeover mode - Manually changing the code dater for Canadian SKU’s - Manage raw materials and finished products - Replace the deflaters and adjust the blades on all baggers - Must be able to work with packaging lead, seasoning room, and warehouse to coordinate and execute changeovers - Must be able to calibrate scales, X-Ray, and metal detector equipment properly - Responsible for proper documentation, recordkeeping and managing all required paperwork - Perform end of week sanitation tasks as assigned by management - Must be prepared to support other plant functions as needed including packaging lead and warehouse. - Team player, ability to adapt to changing demands, and must be a self-starter - Must be able to run multi lines for break and lunch coverage - Must be able to perform lead packer tasks during break and lunch coverage including delivery of corn - Other job duties assigned
