2026 Seasonal Golf Starter/Ranger

Golf Starter/Ranger Pay Rate:$15.50 - $19.50 **POSITION SUMMARY** To provide a safe, enjoyable, and quality golf experience to the Estes Valley residents and visiting guests. Successfully promote the sport of golf to the community and youth. Reports to Manager and Assistant Manager of Golf Services. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - Assist in the staging of golf carts and the returning of carts to the barns as needed. - Patrols golf course property for the purpose of directing players in the proper manner of play and the proper observance of course rules and regulations. - Enforces established rules of course among golfers such as replacing divots, wearing of proper clothing and practicing at designated sites. - Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and all members of the general public. - Works a varied schedule to include weekends and holidays. - Takes measures to expedite play as necessary. - Receives and responds to complaints from golfers. - Promotes positive customer service relations. - Responsible for placing water bottles on course, keeping them filled, and cups supplied as needed. - Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of EVRPD. - Responsible that practice range is open and that correct hitting position for the time of day. Picks and cleans range balls throughout the day. Ensures starter house and range areas are kept clean and stocked, including range dispenser and ball washer. - Ensures that fuel and tire pressure of range jeep is maintained. - Maintains all rental club equipment and the issuing of said equipment. - Removes trash from tee boxes and clubhouse area. - Renders first aid to the injured, is knowledgeable in the use of the AED Lifepack defibrillator, and has had CPR training. - Check play tickets, provides direction to starting order on the first tee and ensures smooth flow for play on the course. - Ensures the coordination of daily events and tournaments. - Attendance at work is an essential function of this position. **NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:** - Relieve other personnel at the golf course when necessary. - The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. **QUALIFICATIONS:** - This position is subject to EVRPD’s background check policy. - Knowledge of the game of golf and the ability to learn policies, rules and regulations of the course. - Good oral and written communications skills. - Valid driver’s license and at least sixteen years of age. - Ability to enforce and direct the public in policies, rules and regulations. - Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees. - Ability to maintain records and files. - Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. - Able to make change and handle money. **TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED**: - Janitorial equipment including vacuums, mops, brooms, dusting equipment, ball washers, golf cart, various hand and power tools, first aid kit, AED defibrillator, and range picker. **Core Values**: - This employee is expected to be honest, fair in his/her dealing with the public and co-workers, and maintain a reputation that is above reproach.
