**About Gulliver Preparatory School** Gulliver is a leading school of distinction, founded in 1926 and rooted in a century of educational excellence. To this day, our mission remains unchanged: to create an academic community devoted to educational excellence, with a personal touch, that fulfills each student’s potential. Our dedicated educators are at the heart of this mission, as they empower our students to think, create, and grow with purpose, connecting the classroom to the real world, and preparing them for what’s next. At Gulliver, we believe that success is not just what students achieve, but also who they become, and the role they play in shaping the future. Rooted in the spirit of Miami, Gulliver embodies the city’s energy and innovation to create a learning environment that’s dynamic and future-facing. We aspire to be a national model for teaching and learning, where the intellectual curiosity of educators and students drives creativity, discovery, and the highest levels of achievement in the classroom, in our community, and beyond. **Working at Gulliver** Gulliver is a trusted guide for families, and our faculty and staff are core to building powerful relationships that ensure every child thrives. We believe skill in drawing, painting, and design is scaffolding for creative thinking, not the end goal of an art education. We are looking for a teacher who shares this vision: someone who sees students as artists, researchers, and problem-solvers, and who is as invested in how students think as in what they can create. The program offers a full curriculum of two- and three-dimensional mediums, including International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement coursework. Many of our students go on to top undergraduate visual arts programs, including RISD, Pratt, MICA, SAIC, and SCAD, and many participate in summer art programs locally or at art colleges. **Job Responsibilities** The Upper School Faculty key responsibilities are as follows: **Academic Instruction & Curriculum Implementation:** - Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with department standards and school-wide curriculum goals — prioritizing student voice, risk-taking, and authentic problem-solving alongside technical growth. - Design lessons that engage all learners, incorporate best practices, and promote deeper understanding of course content. - Manage the classroom and studio in a way that balances creative freedom with structure, trust, and mutual respect. - Utilize technology and innovative tools to enhance student learning and creativity. - Contribute to curriculum development and revision in collaboration with department colleagues and the Department Chair. **Student Learning & Well-being:** - Monitor and assess student progress regularly using multiple data sources; provide timely, actionable feedback. - Use data and assessment to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including academic su…
