REPORTS TO: Principal Position Summary: The i3 Academy Music Teacher's primary responsibility will be to help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible members of society. The Music Teacher will be responsible for creating lesson plans and engaging students in the work created for them individually or in small groups, tracking student progress in multiple ways and presenting the information to parents in a collegial manner. Job Function and Responsibilities: Creates an enriching learning environment where students can explore their passion and interest Promotes critical and creative thinking through inquiry-based learning experiences Fostering a positive school climate for all students Collaborating with classroom teachers to enhance the academic program Enhance project-based learning and STEAM initiatives through innovation and collaboration Create learning experiences for ALL students at i3 Elementary Engages in cross-curricular and integrated units of study through collaboration with classroom and enrichment teachers Integrates technology into learning experiences Uses innovative approaches to create a stimulating interdisciplinary environment Designs engaging and relevant learning experiences for students aligned with learning goals Encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning Designs open-ended problems and guides students through the problem solving process Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to further individual mastery of learning goals Differentiates learning activities as necessary for each learner considering differences in content, process, and product Generates learning activities based on understanding of individual student interest Nurtures a culture where students view themselves as competent learners and provides support to allow that competence to unfold Creates an environment where students have an opportunity to explore their own interests and develop creative projects Inspire students to impact the world with their learning Seeks to understand students and crafts driving questions or projects aimed at igniting their passion and action Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere Seeks to understand the root cause of student behaviors and addresses them accordingly.
