Accompany groups of U.I.L. concert, and sigh treading competitions. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma College Hours in Music Education Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong piano performance skills and a knowledge of the art of accompaniment; Communicate effectively (verbal and written); utilize effective interpersonal skills; knowledge of performance literature for secondary vocal music students. Piano Proficiency Skills Experience: Accompanist skills in both small group setting and full ensemble settings. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Accompanies choral repertoire for UIL Grade 1-6 (concert & sigh treading). Creates accompaniment recordings for student use in private lessons and performance at the high school and middle school level. Reads and performs open score accompaniment. Leads sectional and individual rehearsals as needed for student mastery of choral repertoire. Develops professional skills appropriate to job assignment. Works cooperatively with choral staff, head choral director, fine arts department and principal to meet the educational needs of the choral instructional program. Uses management practices that promote collegiality, teamwork and collaborative decision-making among staff members. Provides for effective two-way communication channels with choral staff, head choral director, fine arts department and principal. Works with choral department to contribute to attain district goals and objectives. Demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible, and serve as a role model for all district staff. Fosters collaborative educational efforts among staff by supporting the district's philosophy and mission and its commitment to site-based shared decision-making. Performs other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
