# Job Summary The General Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics operations within an organization. Plays a critical role in driving efficiency, optimizing supply chain processes, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods. Additionally, leads a team of logistics professionals, sets strategic direction, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives. # Duties and Responsibilities - Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics operations to support organizational goals and objectives. - Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution. - Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiency. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement logistics strategies that align with sales, production, and customer service goals. - Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics service providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation and logistics solutions. - Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. - Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. - Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to optimize logistics processes and ensure compliance with regulations. - Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international trade regulations and customs requirements. - Manage logistics budgets, forecasting, and financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements. - Stay informed about market conditions, customer demands, and competitive landscape to drive strategic decision-making. - Direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisors. - Performs other duties as assigned. # Required Skills and Abilities - Proven experience in a leadership role within logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry or organization. - Strong knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation strategies. - Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees. - Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles related to logistics and supply chain management. - Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software. - Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and customs requirements. - Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. - Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in logistics operations. - Able to lead salaried/exempt positions in multi-shift operation with > 50 employees. - Minimal travel to additional location at least once per quarter. - Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including MS Office Suite. - Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse environment. # Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management Business Administration, or related field required.
